This is timely. Last week my boss had a stern word with me because I am not returning to work in the office, despite being asked to do so. All my colleagues have gone back (the CoVid threat is almost non-existent here in Australia at present).

Turns out he is afraid that I will spend my time at home working on my side business instead of on his. He resents that I have extra time from not commuting which I can put into my business.

I expect he is monitoring my work-connection and keeping track of the times I am logged on, and that's perfectly fine. He's wrong to imagine I might misuse my work time. I wouldn't be so dumb.

But he's right to be scared about how I am growing my side-hustle. Sooner or later, it's going to take me from him forever *high pitched cackle*
