Sad to say but SOME people will choose to not work if there is a UI. The impact on their descendents will be grave.
My ex-husband and his partner live on government handouts in regional Australia. They don’t like working and don’t need to work very much because of the govt handouts.
They do the bare minimum of work.
Because many other people in their town do the same thing, there’s not a lot of money being spent in that town. So there are few profitable businesses =less work for everybody.
That’s not so much of a problem for my ex and his partner. But their child is growing up with no concept of how to work or how to get a job. She will likely start life with no desire to contribute anything to society. It’s highly unlikely she’ll be motivated to become a skilled worker.
We could lose whole generations to boredom and meaninglessness. It’ll be bad for those kids. They won’t have the same choices as their parents. The gap between them and the children of workers will be so wide…..
