How Often Should You Post on Substack?
Best practices are changing, don’t get stuck with advice from 2021
Posting frequency is a topic where opinions have changed a LOT recently in the Substack community.
One thing that everyone can agree on is that you have to be consistent. If you don’t regularly show up in your subscribers’ inboxes, it’s much harder to build a relationship with them. No relationship = no growth.
If you don’t show up often enough, then when you do eventually send an email, half of your subscribers will be like “What now, who is this?” The result: lower open rates, fewer shares and slower growth.
Building a relationship with your subscribers is the key to success, especially if you plan to ask them for money one day. They ain’t going to pay you if they don’t know you, trust you and like your emails. So aim to post and email consistently.
Consistent posting helps you build relationships with your subscribers
What does consistent posting look like?
Consistent posting means emailing your subscribers at a set frequency and (ideally) at the same time of the day and week.
